Lookout Tower on Dzikowiec

Dzikowiec Wielki, an 836-metre peak of the Kamienne Mountains near Boguszów-Gorce, now boasts two lookout towers — and both are free of charge. The older, wooden one was erected here in 2014 at the upper station of the cable car. The younger one, opened in February 2025, measures 38.5 metres and offers a full 360-degree panorama.

The new tower without stairs

The newest structure takes the shape of an inverted cone, and a spiral ramp leads to the top — not a single staircase, although it is difficult to push a pram up here. From the terrace unfolds a view of the Sudetes: you can see Chełmiec, Waligóra — the highest summit of the range — and Ślęża, with Śnieżka visible in the distance in good conditions.

How to get there

Marked trails lead to the summit from the lower cable-car station: the green path and the blue trail mean about 2 km one way, the yellow trail with the red path about 3 km, and a loop combining both variants is 5 km long. You can ride the cable car up to the old tower and follow the yellow trail towards the new one. Two car parks await on site, free of charge in winter.

In practice

The summit lies about 3.4 km south of the centre of Boguszów-Gorce; you can drive from Wałbrzych via road 367 and Sportowa Street, and public transport also reaches the area. A ski resort operates on Dzikowiec, so in winter plan your visit outside peak hours. The spiral platform of the new tower can be slippery in winter and after rain — wear shoes with good soles and hold the handrail.
