Tatra Educational Park in Zakopane

Below the Wielka Krokiew ski jump, at ul. Piłsudskiego 38, you can see an Alpine marmot up close without setting foot on a trail. The Tatra Educational Park is a 1.5-hectare enclosure home to 14 species of animals, from red deer and fallow deer to foxes, owls and a kestrel. You can feed the goats and sheep, and the keepers give talks, so a visit feels like an open-air nature lesson.

Who lives here

The animals are divided into several groups:

• Rodents – the Alpine marmot and the American red squirrel.
• Hoofed mammals – red deer, fallow deer, Carpathian goat and domestic sheep.
• Predators – Arctic fox, silver fox and a "cross" red fox.
• Birds – barn owl, Indian eagle-owl, kestrel and domestic chicken.
• Others – a Flemish Giant rabbit.

Each species comes with facts about its habits, size and range – for example that the kestrel is a strictly protected species.

Talks and play

The ticket covers entry, the chance to feed the animals, access to the park's attractions and the talks. Topics include "Meet the Marmot", "Fox Tales" and "Training Birds of Prey". For children there is a wooden playground and a mini rope course. Organised groups can book a guided tour, feeding of the hoofed animals and themed workshops, lasting 90–120 minutes, for a fee of PLN 200 on top of the tickets, covering the guide and animal feed.

• standard ticket – PLN 35, reduced – PLN 30 (children, school pupils and students up to 26, pensioners, people with disabilities),
• family 2+1 – PLN 90, 2+2 – PLN 117, each additional child +PLN 26,
• 10% off with the Large Family Card, for Zakopane residents and for groups of 10 or more.

Tripto tips

• Note: from 5 October 2026 the park is temporarily closed (seasonal break); the operator expects to reopen in the 2027 winter season. Check opening hours before your visit.
• With children, allow 1.5–2 hours – talks and feeding easily stretch a visit.
