Technical monuments
A car-based thematic route past forty sites of industrial heritage in the Silesian voivodeship: mines, breweries, energy, railway, communications and food industry landmarks. It is run by the Coal Mining Museum in Zabrze. The most valuable points bear the title of Stars of Technology.
Among the five stars are the Silver Mine and the Black Trout Adit in Tarnowskie Góry, the Guido Mine and the Queen Luiza Adit in Zabrze, and the brewery museums of Tychy and Żywiec. Equally strong names are the Nikiszowiec estate in Katowice and the Gliwice Radio Station — both, together with the Tarnowskie Góry complex and the Zabrze adits, designated Monuments of History.
In July 2017 the Silver Mine and the Black Trout Adit were inscribed on the UNESCO list. The route joined the ERIH European network in 2010 and received the Golden Certificate of the Polish Tourist Organisation in 2008; since 2010 the Industriada festival has been held.
The sites are spread across the voivodeship; pick one key, such as the undergrounds of Tarnowskie Góry and Zabrze, or the brewery stretch of Tychy and Żywiec.
