Kolejkowo Gliwice is a large, highly detailed railway world in miniature, located in the Europa Centralna shopping centre at 315 Pszczyńska Street. The 1:25-scale layout covers about 900 m² and includes 460 m of track, 12 trains and hundreds of everyday scenes. Children can hunt for hidden details while adults recognise Silesian landmarks.
The layout includes the Gliwice radio tower, town hall, St Anne’s Church above Nikiszowiec, Będzin Castle and the Pokój steelworks. Around 3,200 figures of people and animals and 195 cars create small stories and playful scenes. Trains move through the display, while changing lights let visitors observe both day and night.
At Kolejkowo, day lasts about nine minutes, followed by four minutes of night. After dark, street lamps and building windows light up. Every few minutes, a storm passes over part of the layout with thunder, lightning and real rain. These effects make a second walk worthwhile, because new details become visible each time.
A visit usually takes 1.5–2 hours, with no fixed time limit. Kolejkowo operates all year, including Sundays and holidays; check the opening calendar before travelling, as weekends may have longer hours. The venue is wheelchair accessible, provides children’s viewing platforms and has a large shopping-centre car park. Online tickets can help you skip the queue.
