Museum of Folk Culture of the Sudetic Foothills in Pstrążna

On a hill above Pstrążna, a northern district of Kudowa-Zdrój lying close to the border, spreads the Museum of Folk Culture of the Sudetic Foothills. Timber cottages and farm buildings moved here from nearby villages form an intimate open-air museum where the folk culture of the foothills is not only displayed but also recreated live.

What to see

At the very top of the hill stands a post windmill, the most distinctive feature of the museum. Below it are an inn, cottages with exhibition interiors, an apiary with honey and a bread-baking spot. The latter has become the hallmark of Pstrążna: visitors can join a lesson in the mystery of bread and watch with their own eyes how a traditional loaf is made (ticket PLN 10).

Practical information

The museum is at ul. Pstrążna 14 in Kudowa-Zdrój. A regular ticket costs PLN 7, a concession ticket PLN 5. The site is open Tuesday to Sunday and closed on Mondays. A visit combines well with a climb up Błędne Skały, only 2 km away, and Szczeliniec Wielki, about 6 km further — the two leading attractions of the Table Mountains nearby.
