Museums
At 46b Zdrojowa Street in the spa town of Kudowa-Zdrój operates a private Toy Museum, opened in December 2002. The collection leads visitors from antiquity to the 1980s, though most exhibits come from the 19th and 20th centuries. Children come here for the toys, adults for the memories and the toy classics they grew up with.
In the display cases await toy theatres with puppets, Christmas cribs, building blocks, mechanical and tin toys, textile dolls and animals, wooden and clay figures, and toy soldiers. You will also see dollhouses with miniature furniture, music boxes, train sets with tracks, games and the first computers. The collection comes from all corners of the world, and its variety means neither junior nor senior visitors get bored.
The collections have repeatedly appeared outside the seat: at the Museum of the Kłodzko Land, at Książ Castle in Wałbrzych and at the Castle of the Pomeranian Dukes in Szczecin. In 2012 the institution, as the only museum from Poland, received an invitation to the World Congress of Toy Museums in Istanbul. Since July 2010 a branch has also operated in Krynica-Zdrój on Piłsudskiego Street.
The museum is open all year round, all week; the current price list and hours are at muzeum-zabawek.pl. After the toys, leave time for Kudowa’s attractions: 1.1 km separates you from the Chapel of Skulls and 5.2 km from the Błędne Skały Rocks in the Table Mountains National Park.
