Ethnographic Park in Olsztynek

The Museum of Folk Architecture — Ethnographic Park in Olsztynek is a large open-air museum presenting the traditional countryside of Warmia, Masuria, Powiśle and Lithuania Minor. Across 77 hectares, around 80 large and small rural buildings have been assembled, including homes, farm buildings, religious structures and former industrial workshops.

What to see in the park

The exhibits are arranged as a rural landscape, with buildings set among greenery. Household gardens contain flowers, vegetables and herbs, and the museum keeps farm animals including horses, cattle, goats, sheep and poultry. The collections of material culture and folk art contain more than 14,000 objects. A visit therefore goes beyond viewing individual buildings: it shows how a historic farmstead and village functioned.

More than the open-air park

The Ethnographic Park at Leśna 23 is the museum’s main and largest section. In central Olsztynek, the museum also runs the Exhibition Salon and Mrongowiusz House at Zamkowa 1; according to the museum, they are open from June to the end of September, Tuesday to Sunday. If you want to see both sections, check the combined-ticket option and allow time to travel between the locations.

Before your visit

The park is open daily from 09:00 to 17:00. For 2026, the museum lists a standard ticket at PLN 30, a reduced ticket at PLN 19 and a family ticket at PLN 80; children under seven enter free. Parking at the park is paid, with PLN 10 for a passenger car. Wear comfortable shoes and check the museum’s current notices before travelling.
