Nature
Dubiecko, Subcarpathian
About 2.5 km from Dubiecko, among the fields and woods of the foothills, lies a raised bog where the insect-eating round-leaved sundew grows and rare garganeys can be seen. The Broduszurki reserve has protected it since 1996, and a nature trail runs through it.
The reserve covers 25.91 ha between Przedmieście Dubieckie and Winne-Podbukowina, within the Przemyśl Foothills Landscape Park and the Natura 2000 site "Pogórze Przemyskie". It was created to preserve well-developed peat-bog communities with many protected plants. In a small area you will find raised and transitional bog, pits left by former peat cutting, and the surrounding meadows and woods.
Plants include round-leaved sundew, the carnivorous greater bladderwort, cranberry, common cottongrass, water horsetail and water-starwort. The birds include rare ducks – garganey and teal – and there are protected amphibians and reptiles. The landscape is a mix of floating moss mats, raised-bog moss, bog pine forest and purple moor-grass meadows.
The reserve is about 2.5 km from the centre of Dubiecko. The best way to explore is the Winne-Podbukowina nature trail – stay on it, as the bog is soft and the plants fragile. Allow 45–90 minutes. It is most interesting from late spring to the end of summer, when plants are in flower and amphibians and birds are active. Wear waterproof shoes and bring insect repellent. Afterwards you can head back to Dubiecko and the park by the Krasicki Palace.
