Park of Moving Dinosaurs at Zatorland

Zatorland in Zator, a small town in Lesser Poland between Oświęcim and Wadowice, is a complex of three theme parks plus a funfair. Its foundation is the Park of Moving Dinosaurs, originally known as DinoZatorland — home to a collection of more than 100 animatronic models of prehistoric reptiles arranged among trees several hundred years old.

A path through the eras

The trail crosses densely wooded ground on a wooden walkway, which lets you view the models up close, in places at jaw level. Each exhibit carries an information board: where the dinosaur lived, how large it grew, what it weighed and what it ate. Some models roar, others have less serious talents that make the youngest laugh. The star is the great tyrannosaur, joined in 2018 by an argentinosaurus: 9 metres tall and 35 metres long, billed as the largest moving dinosaur in the world. Souvenir photos are taken inside the shell of a giant egg or on a Triceratops-shaped bench.

The rest of Zatorland

The family is completed by the Park of Insects with a miniature traffic town, the Park of Mythology with figures from ancient myths, and a steadily growing funfair. The park operates seasonally from May to October, daily 10:00–20:00, with free parking; the address is Parkowa 7. Energylandia lies less than 3 km away, so Zator is often planned as a weekend with two parks on the itinerary.
