Hajnówka, a county town at the gates of the Białowieża Forest, has its own guide to the architecture of Podlasie. On Bielska Street operates the Miniature Park of Podlasie Monuments, where wooden Orthodox churches, Catholic churches, mosques and palaces scattered across the region have been gathered on a single lawn — all at a scale of 1:25.
Among the models you will find the church in Puchły, one of the most recognisable wooden churches of Podlasie, and the mosque in Kruszyniany, evidence of the centuries-long coexistence of cultures in these lands. The wooden church in Narew, the town hall in Bielsk Podlaski and the palace in Choroszcz complete the picture. The collection closes with the Tsar's Palace in Białowieża and decorated wooden houses from the Land of Open Shutters.
The park lies about 20 kilometres from Białowieża, so it combines naturally with a trip to the forest. A standard ticket costs PLN 10, a concession ticket PLN 7. The uniform scale of all models makes it easy to compare their real proportions and pick the ones worth seeing in the original on a tour of Podlasie's wooden architecture. Nearby attractions include the cathedral in Hajnówka and the European Bison Show Reserve, a dozen or so kilometres further on.
