Solina, Subcarpathian
The Solina Gondola Lift is a modern cable car above Lake Solina in southeastern Poland, carrying visitors from Plasza station beside Solina Dam up to Jawor hill. From the cabins you look down on the dam, the lake's winding bays and the green hills of the Bieszczady, and at the top an observation tower with an open-air terrace on the 10th floor adds even wider views. Opened in 2022, it has quickly become one of the region's most popular family attractions.
The lower station stands in the village of Solina, right next to Poland's tallest dam. Solina is about an hour's drive from the town of Sanok, roughly 2 to 2.5 hours from Rzeszów-Jasionka Airport (RZE) and around 4 hours from Kraków. Parking at the stations is reserved for people with limited mobility, and there is no parking at the upper station, so leave your car in one of Solina's parking lots and walk to Plasza station.
Operated by Polskie Koleje Linowe (Polish Cable Railways), the line opened on July 1, 2022:
Your ticket is valid all day while the lift operates, with no time limit at the top; just be back on the platform 15 minutes before closing. At Jawor you will find:
At the lower station, an interactive exhibit covers the history of the lake, the dam and the lift. Plan around 3 hours if you want to try everything.
In October 2026 the lift runs daily from 9 am to 6 pm. It closes for a technical break from November 16 to December 18, 2026; check the operator's website for winter hours after that.
Low-season prices (October 2 – November 30, 2026), round trip:
Dogs (muzzled and leashed), bikes and unfolded strollers cost an extra 10 PLN; folded strollers ride free. Dogs are not allowed on the tower or in the theme park. Strong winds can stop the lift; if a stoppage lasts more than an hour, replacement transport is provided and refunds apply.
Stations, cabins, the tower, the café and the restaurants are wheelchair accessible; only the rough paths of the theme park are difficult. Visitors with significant disabilities and their companions pay the reduced fare and skip the line.
Is it worth visiting? On a clear day, yes – it is the easiest way to see Lake Solina from above, and combining it with a walk across the dam makes for a great half-day.
