Lake Necko in Augustów

Lake Necko is why Augustów feels like both a town and a resort. The urban shore offers a beach, promenades, rentals and the Radio Three Pier, while the link with the Netta River and Augustów Canal opens a route into a larger network of lakes and waterways. It is a convenient choice for combining swimming, a walk and time on the water.

The pier and public beach

The Radio Three Pier is 147 metres long and leads to viewpoints over the lake. The beach area has food outlets, equipment rentals and walking boulevards. City information also lists other Necko beaches, including Postiw with a water-ski lift and Bielnik by the marina.

Swimming and water sports

Choose swimming, kayaking, sailing, a cruise or a cycle route by the water. Seasonal bathing areas have their own hours, regulations and current water-quality assessments. For 2026, the GIS service lists the Budowlani Beach bathing season as 27 June–31 August, 10:00–18:00; check the latest notice before swimming.

A good day plan

Walk the pier and boulevards in the morning, then choose a beach or rental. If you plan a cruise, check the route through the Netta and Augustów Canal and the return time. Outside the season, the lake remains suitable for a walk, but some services may be closed. Start weekend visits early, as the most popular places fill up quickly.
