Lakes
Gołuchów, Greater Poland
Gołuchów Lake, also called the reservoir, is a dam reservoir on the Trzemna river, surrounded by forest in the south of Greater Poland. It was built in 1969–1971 on land belonging to the villages of Gołuchów and Czerminek, about 15 km north-west of Kalisz. In summer people come for the beach, kayaks and pedal boats; out of season, for a quiet walk along the shore.
The reservoir serves recreation and acts as auxiliary storage for the Kalisz water system. Sources give its area as 51.5 ha, while the resort operator speaks of a 61-hectare lake – probably a matter of how it is measured.
On the shore, at ul. Leśna 1, is the Gołuchów Tourism and Sports Centre (GOTiS). Its 45 cabins sleep up to 190 guests. The resort offers:
Cabins and the campsite are let from 1 May to 30 September.
The lake complements a visit to Gołuchów, best known for its castle. The resort also promotes the area to anglers, mushroom pickers and cyclists, and publishes the water profile and quality assessment on its website.
The lifeguarded bathing area operates only in the summer season – before swimming, check the current status on the GIS bathing-water service and the resort's notices. Hire and snack bars are seasonal, so in autumn and winter come for a walk instead. Out of season reception is open on weekdays 7:00–15:00, and from May to September at weekends too. Anglers should check the rules and permits separately.
