Góra Zborów

Góra Zborów near Podlesice is a limestone hill about 462 metres high and the centrepiece of the Góra Zborów nature reserve. Together with nearby Kołoczek, it forms the rockiest part of the Kroczyce Rocks. Trails pass between limestone outcrops, with selected crags designated for climbing. It is a rewarding short walk with wide Jura views if you follow the marked routes.

Rocks and reserve landscape

The reserve covers about 45 hectares within the Eagles’ Nests Landscape Park and the Kroczycka Refuge Natura 2000 site. Limestone erosion created needles, towers, rock shelters, hollows and sinkholes. Open grasslands support plants of warm, dry habitats, while protected birds nest among the crags. Walk between the outcrops on the designated trail instead of cutting across vegetation.

Trails, climbing and Głęboka Cave

The reserve includes the red Eagles’ Nests Trail, the green Rzędkowicki Trail, a black connecting trail and the educational path “Góra Zborów – People and Nature”. Climbing is allowed only at designated sites under the RDOŚ rules: use existing protection and respect temporary closures during bird nesting. Głęboka Cave is the only cave in the reserve open for tourist visits. Other caves are closed for safety and bat conservation.

Practical information

Start by the car park and the Centre for Natural and Cultural Heritage of the Jura in Podlesice, beside DW 792. Wear shoes for rocky ground. Stay on open trails and do not damage rocks or plants. Check RDOŚ rules and Głęboka Cave’s separate hours and tickets before an underground visit.
