Museums
The Jura Natural and Cultural Heritage Centre in Podlesice is an educational base in the Kraków-Częstochowa Upland. Its exhibition presents the geology, nature and history of the Góra Zborów area through fossils, minerals, research and an interactive landscape model. It is a good place to start a trip and understand the Jura landscape.
The centre runs exhibitions, talks, workshops and group sessions on geology, biology, insects, bats and local traditions. It also supports active conservation of Jura habitats, including grazing by Olkuska sheep. The programme depends on the date, so groups should book in advance.
The centre is a base for the Góra Zborów nature reserve and Głęboka Cave, but these are separate parts of the complex. The cave is about a kilometre from Podlesice and opens seasonally at set times; register and buy tickets at the centre’s reception. The route has its own rules and the rocks and trails require hiking shoes. A cave ticket does not automatically cover the exhibition or reserve.
The centre is at 41 Jaskiniowa Street, 42-425 Podlesice. Official contact information lists April–October hours as daily 9:00 am–5:00 pm. Check current prices for the exhibition, activities and cave before travelling. The reception helps plan longer routes; also check reserve conditions and cave availability. Climb only in designated places under local rules.
