Grojec Hill in Psary

Grojec Hill near Psary, in the Woźniki municipality, rises to 365 m above sea level as the summit of a limestone hill set in the agricultural landscape of northern Silesia. Its slopes contain the Góra Grojec nature reserve, established in 1996 and covering approximately 17.53 hectares.

A limestone forest reserve

The reserve protects woodland with sycamore, beech and fir growing on limestone. Visitors can see varied terrain and natural rock outcrops, but this is not a fully equipped park with extensive tourist infrastructure. Stories of a sunken castle or an ancient stronghold belong to local legend, so treat them as folklore rather than a confirmed description of the site.

A walk from Psary

The best starting point is Psary, with a short outing planned around the reserve. The wooded slopes are pleasant in spring and autumn, while the open farmland around the hill shows how clearly Grojec stands above the lowland surroundings. Check the approach on a current map before setting out; local roads and forest paths do not form one extensively signposted route.

Practical information

The reserve is an outdoor attraction without a ticket office, but nature-protection rules apply: stay on permitted roads, do not damage plants and avoid unmarked areas. Limestone can be slippery after rain. Do not assume there is a dedicated car park, toilet or permanent viewpoint; treat Grojec as a quiet nature walk rather than a developed tourist complex.
