The manor house in Bystrzanowice-Dwór is an 18th-century brick historic building preserved in a Classical form, with a portico and columns. It stands at 1 Ogrodowa Street, in Janów municipality on the Kraków-Częstochowa Upland. The manor and park are protected heritage. This is private accommodation, not a museum with regular visiting hours. Do not enter without arranging access in advance.

History of the manor

The first record of Bystrzanowice dates to 1385, and the village belonged to the Bystrzanowski family of the Stary Koń coat of arms until 1833. The present manor was built in the 18th century. Between 1783 and 1791 Sebastian Bystrzanowski built a larger residence in Cielętniki and moved there. In 1833 the estate passed to Wincenty Komornicki, in 1852 to Wincenty Krasiński, and from 1878 to 1945 to the Raczyński family. During World War II the area was active with Home Army resistance, and the manor reportedly served as a base for Jerzy Kurpiński, “Ponury”.

After the estate was taken over by the state in 1945, the building deteriorated. Private owners later adapted it for accommodation.
