Drawa National Park

Drawa National Park lies in north-western Poland, in the heart of the Drawa Forest. It protects the valleys of the Drawa and Płociczna, lakes, peatlands, meadows and natural woodland. Choose it for quiet lowland nature, a longer walk or a river trip. Drawno and the DPN Education and Tourism Centre at 20 Kolejowa Street are useful bases for planning a visit.

Trails and wildlife

Marked walking, cycling and horse-riding trails, plus educational paths, run through the park. They are available year-round from dawn to dusk, although access may be restricted temporarily. Check the map and choose a specific route, as not every forest road is open to visitors. Around Lake Ostrowieckie, Barnimie and Drawnik, look for water birds, beaver tracks and old trees.

Kayaking on the Drawa

The park’s signature activity is paddling the Drawa. Only paddle-powered craft are allowed; river use is paid and limited to 750 people per day. Under the current rules, the Drawa is available from 1 January to 15 March and from 1 July to 31 December, from 9:00 to 19:00. A designated section of the Korytnica is also open, while other waters are closed to water tourism. Buy a ticket online or at a DPN information point.

Visiting rules

Camping is allowed only at designated, capacity-limited sites, and fires only in marked areas. Dogs are not allowed in the park. Before travelling, check the map, current DPN notice, kayaking price and any temporary closures. Stay on marked routes and leave natural features undisturbed.
