Lake Łubówko

Lake Łubówko lies a few kilometres north of Drezdenko in a deep glacial basin. Its turquoise-green water, steep shores and mature forest create one of the most distinctive natural landscapes in the Lubusz region. It is a place for walking and wildlife observation, not an improvised bathing spot.

Łubówko nature reserve

The lake forms the centre of a nature reserve protecting a mosaic of aquatic and forest ecosystems and natural processes. According to the Smolarz Forest District, the average depth exceeds 10 metres and the maximum is about 18.2 metres. The depth and water clarity help create the reservoir’s characteristic colour.

Old forest and glacial landscape

Beech, beech-pine and mixed woodland surrounds the water, with hornbeam, oak, alder and lime also present. The reserve includes glacial landforms such as hills, hollows and steep slopes towards the lake. Enjoy the view from legal access points rather than descending onto unofficial shores.

Planning a walk

RDOŚ has designated a walking and cycling route in the reserve; check its current course and map before setting out. Do not treat forest tracks as unrestricted access to every part of the shoreline, and do not swim or damage vegetation. The lake can be combined with Drezdenko, Mierzęcin Palace or another destination in the Drawa Forest.
