Kraków’s Avenue of Stars is located on Bulwar Czerwieński, at the foot of Wawel Castle beside the Vistula. This outdoor gallery honours musicians, film artists and bands: stars and handprints are set into the walkway for figures connected with Polish and international culture. It works best as a stop on a riverside walk combined with Wawel, the Wawel Dragon and other sights along the embankment.
The avenue was launched in 2008 as a joint project of the City of Kraków and RMF FM. Honoured names include Céline Dion, Scorpions, Marek Grechuta, Maanam, Krzysztof Krawczyk and Bryan Adams. New ceremonies can add further names, so treat the site as part of a wider city walk rather than as a museum with an indoor exhibition.
The avenue stands on Bulwar Czerwieński, between the Dębnicki and Grunwaldzki bridges, close to Wawel and the monuments of the Wawel Dragon and the dog Dżok. The river boulevards are popular for walking, cycling and relaxing by the Vistula. From here, you can continue towards the castle hill, join a river cruise or follow the embankment further through central Kraków.
This is an outdoor attraction with no ticket office or fixed opening hours. Access can be affected by public events, work on the boulevards or temporary pedestrian arrangements. The riverside promenade is generally open to the public, but it may be crowded during events. Check current city notices and wear comfortable shoes for the walk.
