Tasarki Reservoir in Mstów

Right by the bed of the Warta river, not far from the Rock of Love (Skała Miłości), lies the Tasarki reservoir — a small artificial pond in Mstów that turns into a municipal swimming area in summer and serves walkers the rest of the year. Visitors have at their disposal a sandy beach, a wooden pier and a sports field, surrounded by developed recreation grounds.

A pond fed by springs

Tasarki lies in the Warta valley and is fed by spring water. Around it a leisure complex has grown up: viewing platforms, walking alleys, stone shelters for picnics, barbecue spots and a children's playground. Entry is free and the area is available around the clock, outside the summer peak as well.

Kayaks and a medieval monastery

In season, kayak trips set off from near the reservoir down the Warta gorge, all the way to Mirow, a district of Częstochowa. A few steps away stands the monastery on Wancerzów hill, dating back to the Middle Ages. Mstów itself is a former town: it held town status from 1279 to 1870; today it is a village, the seat of a commune in Częstochowa county, located on the Warta by national road 786.

Practical information

There is no car park directly by the reservoir — free spaces can be found by the commune office in Mstów or on Leśna Street. The best time to visit is late spring and summer, when the swimming area and kayak trips are running; in winter the grounds remain open to walkers.
