Zielona Góra Cave

Zielona Góra Cave lies on the Zielona Góra hill near Kusięta and Olsztyn, within the Zielona Góra nature reserve. The Polish Geological Institute describes it as a valuable karst feature of the Częstochowa Upland, with calcite columns, stalagmites and flowstone.

What is interesting here

The cave formed in Jurassic limestone. Its natural value comes from preserved formations, including thick columns and flowstone surfaces. This is a geological and conservation site, not a family-friendly show cave or a prepared underground route. A rock shelter is also listed among the features made available in the reserve.

The cave is closed

The Regional Directorate for Environmental Protection in Katowice states that Zielona Góra Cave is closed to visitors to protect bats and for safety reasons. Do not plan to enter, disturb the sediment or bypass barriers. In the reserve, stay on the designated walking trail and use only the climbing areas specifically made available.

Planning a visit

Treat Zielona Góra as a nature-reserve walk and a geological point of interest, not as a cave to explore from inside. The red Trail of the Eagles’ Nests runs in the area. Check current signs and access rules before setting out; respecting them protects bats, cave formations and visitor safety.
