Cycling Routes in Limanowa

Four marked cycling loops start in Limanowa, the seat of the Limanowa county in Lesser Poland, a town of around 14,100 inhabitants. The routes run through the hills of the Beskid Wyspowy range and its foothills, combining landmarks with convenient viewpoints over the ridge — nearly 120 km of rides in total, of varied difficulty and easy to split into shorter stages.

Four loops in numbers

Route 1 is 25 km long with about 300 m of elevation gain: it leads via Jabłoniec, Stara Wieś, Golców and Księży Las (Opalona), returning through Pożary and Leśniówka. Route 2 (34 km, approx. 250 m of gain) crosses gentler terrain — through Raszówki, Przyszowa, Świdnik, Łukowica, Roztoka and Siekierczyna. Route 3 (34 km, approx. 400 m of gain) partly repeats its course while adding sections via Młynczyska and Jastrzębie. The shortest loop, route 4 (25 km, approx. 400 m of gain), leaves the Limanowa area: via Stara Wieś and Zalesie it reaches Kamienica and then Szczawa in the Gorce Mountains.

Practical tips

Start in the centre of Limanowa. Loops 2 and 3 can be combined into a longer ride using their shared sections through Łukowica and Roztoka. The best views come with routes 1 and 4, which climb higher above the valleys. Carry a map or a navigation app, as the loops cross at several points and it is easy to miss the right turn on the ground.
