Szczebrzeszyn Landscape Park

Szczebrzeszyn Landscape Park covers a large part of Western Roztocze in Poland’s Lublin Voivodeship. It is known for loess ravines, rolling farmland and river valleys. The park suits visitors who want to combine a quiet walk, nature watching and a visit to the area around Szczebrzeszyn, Radecznica or Zwierzyniec.

Landscape and protection

The park was established in 1991 and covers about 19,370.90 hectares. It lies largely in the eastern part of Western Roztocze, a landscape shaped by broad depressions and numerous loess cuts. Steep-sided ravines formed by erosion are one of the area’s defining features. The park protects natural, landscape, cultural and historical values; its protection rules follow resolutions of the Lublin regional authorities and an adopted conservation plan.

What to do

The best way to explore the park is on foot or by bicycle along local roads and marked routes. Look for views across ravines, fields and river valleys, and combine the landscape with a visit to Szczebrzeszyn and nearby towns. This is not one enclosed attraction: trailheads, route sections and on-site information depend on the municipality and current markings.

Practical information

The park has no single entrance, ticket office or fixed opening hours. Before setting out, choose a specific route, check a map and consider conditions after rain. Do not damage vegetation, leave marked roads or ignore restrictions in protected areas.
