Equestrian Centre in Zbrosławice

The Equestrian Centre in Zbrosławice has operated since 1973, when the Academic Equestrian Club from Katowice brought the first four horses here — within two weeks the stables held thirty animals, and an old mill became the club's base. The centre still works in the village of Zbrosławice in the commune of the same name, Tarnowskie Góry County, in the valley of the Dramа river.

Equestrian sport

The 1980s brought intensive development of the sport, both show jumping and dressage. Several of the club's graduates won Polish Champion titles. Today the Zbrosławice Riding Club competes at regional and national events, and each year the centre organises a Hubertus hunt with a fox chase and show-jumping classes.

Riding lessons and recreation

Lessons on horses and ponies take place every day, and the grounds include a tack shop and accommodation. A curiosity: the village name derives from the given name Zbrosław and means "descendants of Zbrosław"; the settlement was first mentioned around 1300 in the Liber fundationis episcopatus Vratislaviensis.

Practicalities

Address: 28 Wolności Street, Zbrosławice; the grounds are open daily, 8:00–19:00. About 5 km away, in Tarnowskie Góry, lies the Black Trout Adit — the two sites combine easily into one trip.
