Explorers' Forest in Ułęż

Instead of merry-go-rounds and plastic slides – wooden structures, pine cones under bare feet and a mud kitchen by a pond. Explorers' Forest (Las Odkrywców) in Ułęż (Ryki County) is a family adventure park laid out in 6 hectares of real woodland, with more than 30 attractions included in a single ticket and no time limit. Its creators wanted a space free of plastic and noise, where children get to know the forest with all their senses.

Highlights

• Explorer's Tree – a structure wrapped around a living pedunculate oak, with a viewing platform reached in two ways: a gentle path or a climb through spider-web nets. You come down on a turbo slide.
• Forest Zip Line – a 220 m ride on a seat hung just 70 cm off the ground, so take-off and landing are easy (age 5 and up).
• Water Play Meadow – fountains, a field pond and a "mud kitchen".
• Squirrel Town – treetop houses linked by walkways.
• Ant Maze – a multi-level structure with platforms, ladders and giant ants.
• Touch Meadow – a barefoot path over pine cones, stones and stumps.
• A 3.5 m climbing wall, Fox Burrows with underground tunnels, the Forest Obstacle Course and the Sound Meadow with wooden instruments.

Food and facilities

The Forest Restaurant serves soups, pancakes, pierogi and pizza, but you are also welcome to bring your own food and picnic anywhere in the park. There is a designated bonfire spot (no portable barbecues), lockers and a shop with forest souvenirs. At the ticket desks children get a "don't-get-lost" wristband with a parent's phone number. Paths are suitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs, but bikes and scooters are not allowed.

Tripto tips

Plan for a whole day – the ticket has no time limit. Online tickets are cheaper, and at the desk they cost half price after 15:00. Bring a change of clothes and a towel for the Water Play Meadow. The park is seasonal: in autumn 2026 it announced it would reopen to individual visitors in spring, while organised groups are welcome by booking. Address: Ułęż 215E; there is no direct public transport, so it is best to come by car – parking is free. It is about 45 km from Lublin and about 15 km from Dęblin and Ryki.
