Lake Klimkówka, also called the Klimkówka Reservoir, lies on the Ropa River in the Low Beskids. It was created in 1994 after a dam was built and the former Klimkówka valley was flooded. Today it combines a mountain setting, quiet coves and seasonal recreation facilities.
At the Klimkówka Water Station you can find a shoreline area, rest facilities, sanitary facilities and a viewing tower. The municipality also points to beaches, cycling paths and seasonal water-equipment services. A walk by the shore or the “Gorlickie Pieniny” nature trail from Łosie to Klimkówka makes a good outing.
The Water Station is not automatically a supervised bathing area. In an August 2026 notice, the municipality said that no guarded bathing area had been designated in the current or previous season because of continued hydrological conditions. Low water does not mean that the site is closed, but check current rules and conditions before entering the water.
The station operates seasonally according to the municipality’s schedule; for 2026, the stated period was 15 June to 31 August. Facilities may operate differently outside the season. Reach the reservoir from Ropa, Łosie or Klimkówka. Wear shoes suitable for an uneven shore, check hydrological notices and combine the trip with Orthodox churches of the Low Beskids or Wysowa-Zdrój spa.
