Lake Bystrzyckie

Lake Bystrzyckie, also known as the Lubachowski Reservoir, lies between Zagórze Śląskie and Lubachów in the Bystrzyca valley. Created at the beginning of the 20th century beside a historic stone dam, it combines a mountain landscape with lakeside recreation. It is a useful base for a relaxed walk, a cycling outing and a visit to Grodno Castle.

Dam, footbridge and Grodno Castle

The massive historic stone dam is the lake’s most distinctive landmark. A good day plan combines it with Grodno Castle, the Akwarium Tourist Service Centre and the footbridge over Lake Bystrzyckie. Akwarium is a practical starting point, with routes leading towards the dam, castle, footbridge and viewpoints.

The lake is best explored in daylight and with comfortable shoes. Do not assume that the entire shoreline is one easy path; choose a section suited to the weather and your group.
