Dinopark in Szklarska Poręba

Dinopark in Szklarska Poręba (pronounced roughly "SHKLAR-skah po-REM-bah") is a forest theme park in Poland's Karkonosze (Giant) Mountains, where a woodland trail leads past life-size dinosaur models set among spruce trees and boulders. Alongside the dinosaurs there are around a dozen family attractions, from a rope park to a 6D cinema. If you are looking for things to do in Szklarska Poręba with kids, especially on a day too wet for mountain hiking, it is an easy win.

The dinosaur trail

The highlight is an educational trail with 32 life-size dinosaurs, placed in the forest among old trees and natural rocks. The route takes you through roughly 500 million years of Earth's history. You can scan the figures with your phone to see them in 3D, and an audio guide is available for the walk. The park covers about 10 hectares (25 acres) and, according to the operator, has welcomed more than one million visitors since it opened.

Information boards are in Polish; the website also offers English and Czech versions, which hints at many visitors from the Czech side of the mountains.

Extra attractions

Your ticket also covers a range of activities, including:

• a 6D cinema, a 3D photo gallery and an illusion gallery,
• a rope park, zip lines and obstacle courses,
• a "Flintstones" train, bouncy castles, playgrounds and a fossil sandpit,
• gold panning, plus paintball for older kids.

Inside the park you move on foot only, but bikes can be rented for exploring the area afterward.

Is it worth visiting?

For families with children of preschool and school age, yes. Allow 2–4 hours if you want to try the extra attractions. The paths are forest trails, so wear sturdy shoes. Dogs are welcome on a leash; dogs over 10 kg must also wear a muzzle.

As of October 2026, according to the official website (prices in Polish zloty):

• Online / at the gate: standard (ages 12–64) PLN 67 / PLN 85, reduced (ages 3–11 and 65+) PLN 62 / PLN 79, family 2+2 PLN 247 / PLN 315, under 3s PLN 5.
• Online tickets are cheaper, have no time limit and can be canceled free of charge until noon the day before.
• Opening hours: Monday–Friday 10:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m., Saturday and Sunday 10:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Ticket desks close one hour before the park.

How to get there

Szklarska Poręba is a mountain resort in Lower Silesia, close to the Czech border, about 20 km from Jelenia Góra and roughly 130 km west of Wrocław, the nearest city with an international airport. Trains from Wrocław and Jelenia Góra stop at Szklarska Poręba Średnia station, right next to the park. Drivers can use the free parking lot about 300 m from the entrance. Nearby, the Szklarka and Kamieńczyk waterfalls make good short add-ons.
