Aquapark Fala (Łódź Water Park)

Aquapark Fala (say "FAH-lah", Polish for "wave") is the big water park of Łódź (pronounced roughly "Woodge"), one of Poland's largest cities, and the park is one of the busiest in the country, with a record 1.55 million visits in 2025. It sits next to the city zoo. Under glass pyramids you'll find a wave pool, lazy and wild rivers and long slides, and in winter the highlight is a year-round outdoor pool heated to about 32°C (90°F).

Getting there

Łódź is about 1.5 hours from Warsaw by train or car. The water park is at Unii Lubelskiej 4, roughly a 15-minute walk from Łódź Kaliska station (use the rear exit on the Unii Lubelskiej side). By city tram or bus, get off at "Konstantynowska – Unii Lubelskiej". There are free bike racks at the entrance.

A little history

The original Fala opened on June 19, 1976, as an outdoor complex of four pools, one with an artificial wave. Construction defects forced it to close in 1992. The current aquapark opened on the same 10-hectare site on January 31, 2008. Out front stands a bronze statue of Pik-Pok, a storybook penguin, unveiled in 2010.

What's inside

• a wave pool, a nod to the old Fala,
• wild and calm rivers, water jets and a hot tub,
• four year-round slides 120–144 m long; the longest, Anaconda, got a virtual reality system in 2025,
• a 19 m slide tower and a kamikaze drop slide,
• toddler pools and water playgrounds,
• a year-round outdoor pool at around 32°C with massage loungers and jets; the other outdoor pools and the beach open in summer only.

There is also a sauna zone with a snow grotto and salt room, recently enlarged and glazed, and a health zone with brine pools and a Kneipp path. Kids' sauna sessions run on Sunday mornings (8:30–10 a.m.).

Opening hours (as of October 2026)

• Pool zone: daily 9 a.m.–10 p.m.; early swimming Tue–Fri (except public holidays) 7–8:30 a.m.
• Sauna zone: Mon–Thu until 10 p.m., Fri until 11:30 p.m., Sat 9 a.m.–11 p.m., Sun and holidays 9 a.m.–10 p.m. From October 12, 2026, saunas open at 9 a.m. on weekdays (previously 11 a.m.).
• You must leave the pools at least 15 minutes before closing.

The operator has announced short closures of some attractions for upgrades, without dates, so check the website before you go.

Pool zone prices in Polish złoty (PLN), as of October 2026:

• 1 hour: PLN 40 on weekdays, PLN 43 at weekends and holidays (reduced PLN 34/38)
• 2 hours: PLN 70 / PLN 73 (reduced PLN 63/67)
• 3 hours: PLN 93 / PLN 99 (reduced PLN 82/89)
• All day: PLN 164 / PLN 185 (reduced PLN 136/150)

Children under 3 go free, and so does anyone on their birthday with photo ID. Each minute over your time costs PLN 1.50. Reduced tickets need a Polish school or student ID (students up to 26) or a pensioner card. Combined tickets with the zoo are available.

Is it worth visiting?

If you're in Łódź with kids, or you just want a warm swim outdoors on a frosty evening, absolutely. Plan three hours, and pair it with the Orientarium Zoo Łódź next door.
