Leman Hill and its Viewing Tower in Piaszno

Leman Hill in Piaszno, Kashubia, is a small elevation reaching 220 m above sea level, south of Bytów. A wooden viewing tower over 20 m high stands at the summit, while a reconstruction of a Gothic settlement and stone circles are nearby. It is a quiet Pomeranian stop for a short break during a trip around Bytów.

Tower and panorama

The platform looks over Kashubian lakes, fields and Siemierzycka Góra. The tower was built on the initiative of Klemens Leman, a farmer associated with the land. The approach follows road 20 from Bytów, with a narrow or gravel final section possible. The tower works best as part of a short walk; allow roughly fifteen to thirty minutes for the stop.

Gothic village and stone circles

Near the tower, a small reconstruction presents wooden huts, a palisade and elements of traditional crafts, suggesting what a settlement inspired by Gothic culture might have looked like. Stone circles and a barrow cemetery are also found in the area, but the reconstruction is not an original archaeological site. Outdoor events such as traditional bread-baking demonstrations take place on selected dates.

Practical information

The tower and village are outdoor attractions beside an agritourism farm. Check current access rules, availability and event dates before travelling; do not assume fixed opening hours or extensive facilities. Wear comfortable shoes for the uneven forest approach. The visit combines well with Bytów’s Teutonic castle and other stops on the Pomeranian Gothic Castles Trail.
