Czorsztyn is a village on Lake Czorsztyn, where the Pieniny and Gorce mountains meet. Above the water rise the ruins of a 14th-century Gothic castle, with Niedzica Castle visible across the reservoir. Today's Czorsztyn grew out of the former summer resort of Nadzamcze, as the old village below the castle disappeared when the reservoir was built. In summer pleasure boats sail from here, and it is close to Sromowce, the Dunajec rafting trip and Pieniny National Park. Nearby runs the Wooden Architecture Route with churches in Dębno and Frydman. Czorsztyn suits families, hikers and anyone who wants views combined with history.
