Central Museum of Textiles in Łódź

The Central Museum of Textiles occupies Ludwik Geyer's White Factory at 282 Piotrkowska Street. This 19th-century complex explores industrial Łódź, fashion, textile art and everyday life.

The White Factory and main exhibitions

Start with “City – Fashion – Machine” about textiles, Łódź and workers' lives. “Machinery in Motion” demonstrates working looms, “Łódź Microhistories” focuses on residents' everyday lives, and “The Last Summer” explores 1930s culture in a pre-war villa. Check the current temporary programme.

Łódź City Culture Park

The grounds include historic wooden buildings moved from Łódź and its surroundings. Allow at least three hours for all currently available exhibitions.

Practical tips

The museum and park are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. Hours: Wed 12:00–17:00, Thu–Fri 12:00–19:00, Sat 11:00–18:00, Sun 11:00–17:00. Permanent exhibitions are free on Wednesdays with a ticket from the desk. An all-exhibitions ticket costs 55 PLN or 39 PLN reduced; individual permanent exhibitions cost 22 PLN or 15 PLN. The main entrance is on Piotrkowska Street and a second entrance is on Milionowa Street. City parking applies near Piotrkowska; free museum parking is by Milionowa. Some paths are cobbled. Tripto tip: check “Machinery in Motion” demonstration times before planning your route.
