Majaland Kownaty

The wooden Wilkołak (Werewolf) roller coaster stands 22 m tall and reaches 71 km/h – a mirror-image copy of Heidi the Ride at Plopsaland De Panne in Belgium. Majaland Kownaty is a family theme park in western Poland's Lubuskie region, built around Maya the Bee and other cartoon characters from Studio 100. Much of it is under one roof, so the park runs all year round, not just in summer.

History: from a field to European awards

Work began with a symbolic groundbreaking on 22 September 2016, and the foundation stone was laid that December. The hall housing the year-round zone was completed in May 2018, and the park opened to visitors on 29 September 2018. A year later, on 29 June 2019, the Wilkołak – the park's first wooden coaster – opened. Majaland took 8th and 9th place in the European Star Award ranking of the best new attractions opened in Europe in 2020.

Kownaty was the first Majaland in Poland; parks followed in Góraszka near Warsaw and in Gdańsk (2024). All belong to the Dutch group Momentum Leisure, which announced in 2026 that the brand would become Episodia. According to the operator, the Kownaty park will start its transformation from spring 2027 – until then the Majaland name remains.

Attractions

• Wilkołak – an outdoor wooden family coaster by GCI: 22 m high, up to 71 km/h.
• Viking Rollercoaster – a children's coaster inside the hall, 9 m high and almost 39 km/h, running whatever the weather.
• About 24 other rides (as of 2023) – carousels, boats, playgrounds and a water zone, some of them indoors.
• Character meet-and-greets – Maya the Bee and other cartoon heroes – plus shows, concerts and workshops about the role of bees in nature.

Tripto tip

The park is in the village of Kownaty (Kownaty 17, 66-235 Torzym). Opening hours vary by day and season, and the outdoor area, including the Wilkołak and water rides, only operates in suitable weather – check the calendar on the park's website before you set off. Plan for a full day, especially with pre-school and younger school-age children. Some rides have height restrictions, so measure your child before you go and plan your route around what they can ride. If you plan to use the water zone, bring a change of clothes.
