Things to do in Bytów
Bytów lies in western Kashubia, and its symbol is the Teutonic castle that houses the West Kashubian Museum. In the centre stand the Gothic tower of the old St Catherine's Church, now a museum branch, and a 19th-century church modelled on St Matthew's in Berlin. On a hill beyond the old walls is St George's Church, where pastor Szymon Krofey preached in Kashubian in the 16th century. Bytów works well as a stop on a Kashubian tour and as a base for the lakes and the Słupia valley.
